This year there will feature 80 youth participants on stage with the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, on November 25th. Michala Magee spent the Saturday morning rehearsal teaching the cast proper technique to warm up, prepare for the stage, and interactive powerful group discussions.

MIAMI-DADE – Miami-Dade County is receiving a $13.5 million grant for Biscayne Bay Water Quality Improvement Program projects, following an announcement by Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). The funding will support transformative stormwater and wastewater management practices by the Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources’ (RER) Division of Environmental Resources Management’s (DERM), innovative approaches undertaken by the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) to extend the sanitary sewer system to convert properties currently not connected to the sewer system, as well as essential nutrient pollution reducing drainage projects overseen by the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW).

Seventy percent of Americans have no CPR training, a basic life-saving skill that could save the life of a loved one who has just suffered a heart attack or a stroke. In recognition of the need for this crucial training, this past Saturday Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) and Jackson Health Systems hosted CPR Day Miami at 10 District schools, where more than 1,000 participants, 11 years old and up were trained on how to save a life in case of a cardiac emergency.
