Doral’s Donation Drop-Off Points for Bahamas Relief

Doral, FL –In the wake of Hurricane Dorian’s devastation of the Bahamas, the Mayor and City Council are requesting the community’s kindness and support with the donationof much needed items to the victims of this storm. The City has partnered with Miami-Dade County to ensure that donations reach the Bahamas to aid their residents.

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. – Food For The Poor is responding to an urgent need for aid to our neighbor the Bahamas, which has been devastated by Hurricane Dorian. The charity will respond with partners Sandals Foundation and the Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida to identify greatest need and coordinate distribution of aid.

Several Areas of County to be Sprayed to Reduce Mosquito Larvae

BROWARD COUNTY, FL.- Recent heavy rains are prompting the need for the Mosquito Control Section to spray several areas of the County to reduce the mosquito larvae population. Preventive truck larviciding will be proactively performed between the hours of 10PM and 6AM, weather permitting, August 26 – September 14, 2019. The areas being targeted are portions of Fort Lauderdale, Wilton Manors, Davie, Miramar, Pembroke Pines and Southwest Ranches. Maps of the spray areas and more information.

Commissioner Joe A. Martinez and Adonel Concrete will be providing sand for those who need sand bags in preparation for Hurricane Dorian. 

Travel Smart with the FL511 Mobile App to College Football Games

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The college football season is upon us. Games will be played throughout the state. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) encourages motorists traveling to and from the games and activities to use the FL511 Mobile App for current roadway conditions.

Miami-Dade County Mayor Announces Hurricane Relief Supplies Drive

MIAMI, FL – The Little Haiti Optimist Club, The Little Haiti/Edison/Little River Neighborhood Enhancement Team (N.E.T.), The Green Family Foundation and Partners will be celebrating their annual “Back 2 School” event on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Little Haiti Soccer Park.
