Our Savior Lutheran School Teacher running in New York City Marathon to Raise Monies for Cystic Fibrosis

Our Savior Lutheran School Kindergarten teacher, Trisha DePasquale, is running in the New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 7, 2021 to raise awareness and monies for cystic fibrosis.  The students, faculty and staff at Our Savior Lutheran School in Plantation, Florida are helping Mrs. DePasquale get across that finish line and have selected Team Boomer as the recipient for their chapel offerings and have already raised $1,108.96, to date.

Help Needed for Final Year Students at The UWI to Cross the Finish Line

Long before the COVID-19 pandemic arrived, many of our talented and ambitious scholars struggled financially to afford to pay for their university tuition in years 1and 2. As we shift focus to our current situation, many families are now battling the dual challenge of maintaining a livelihood at subsistence level and paying college tuition fees. Our scholars approaching their third and final year and are now grappling with perhaps the most difficult question in their learning experience… how to continue their educational journey?  For these students who have sacrificed so much, and not be able to complete their studies, we believe this would be an enormous setback for themselves and their generation.

Don Shula Expressway’s Ramp to Southwest 128th Street Opens

MIAMI-DADE – Chairman Jose "Pepe" Diaz and County Commissioners Danielle Cohen Higgins, Kionne McGhee and Jean Monestime joined County officials and supporters to celebrate the opening of the Don Shula Expressway’s ramp connector to Southwest 128th Street on Friday, Sept. 10.
