MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL– On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, County Commissioners unanimously adopted legislation sponsored by Commissioner Rebeca Sosa creating the Miami-Dade County Biscayne Bay Watershed Management Advisory Board (BBWMAB). The establishment of this new permanent County Board was a recommendation of the Biscayne Bay Task Force. The BBWMAB is tasked with addressing the recovery of water quality in Biscayne Bay and future management of the watershed.

MIAMI  —Miami-Dade County has extended the time to apply for its rent relief program until Friday, July 9.  Eligible Miami-Dade County residents that have fallen behind on rent due to COVID-19 can apply for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP 2.3) to help pay back rent and other housing costs.  All applications submitted during the open period will be placed into a pool that will be sorted by a computerized random selection process to determine order of review.

This new scholarship, in the form of bar preparatory courses, will be awarded to eligible rising 2Ls and 3Ls who are members of the Black Law Students Association in South Florida, to help alleviate the financial burdens that Black law students experience while preparing for the bar exam. 

MIAMI —Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces announces the completion of an $1.1 million expansion project at Quail Roost Park, 11336 SW 186 St., Miami. Park improvements include a new 20,300 square foot playground for the 2.47 acre neighborhood park, making it the largest playground in the Miami-Dade County Parks system.
