St. Lucia to Lift Pandemic Induced State of Emergency

CASTRIES, St. Lucia – Prime Minister Phillip J Pierre, indicating that St. Lucians will have to live with the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic for the ‘foreseeable future” has announced an end to the existing state of emergency (SOE) that had been put in place by the last administration to curb the spread of the virus that has so far killed 232 and infected 12,129 others since March last year.

Caribbean Children are Fed Minimally Diverse Diet – UNICEF Report

GENEVA, Switzerland –The United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) said Monday that a significant number of children in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) are feed a minimal diverse diet noting that there has been little sign of improvement in the diets of the world’s youngest children over the last ten years.

Antiguan PM Laments Lack of Global Response, Vaccination Program to End COVID-19 Pandemic

UNITED NATIONS –The Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Browne says that he is in agreement with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres that the lack of a global response and vaccination program to end the COVID-19 pandemic is “a clear and tragic example” of the failure of the international community to deliver policies to support peace, global health, the viability of the planet and other pressing needs.

Family Doctors Step Up as Last Line of Defense Against Vaccine Hesitancy

Although 54 percent of the US population is now fully vaccinated for COVID-19, vaccine hesitancy is still prevalent, now with a newer group—parents of children ages 12 and under. Family doctors and pediatricians are now being called to the front lines to create trust among these parents of children who can now be vaccinated.
