Travel industry professional and friend of the Caribbean, Dinaz Boga Kaprielian unexpectedly passed away on Nov 18, 2019 in Orlando, FL where she had been residing.
Founder and president of travel hospitality public relations firm Jensen/Boga Inc., Dinaz was a creative force and disciplined marketer. For much of her professional life, she was closely associated with the Caribbean where she had a proven record of planning and implementing targeted communications campaigns for clients including The Bahamas, Cayman Islands and Jamaica. For many years, she served as spokeswoman for Air Jamaica, at the time, the national carrier of the island country.
Her deep respect for the region and its people kept Dinaz deeply involved in New York’s Caribbean Diaspora community, where she served on the advisory board of JAMPACT - a youth organization, supporting the Baptist church network in the Bronx; and for more than a decade, on the committee for Jamaica’s very popular Independence celebrations.
A veteran of the communications field, before starting her own company, Dinaz worked for major advertising agency groups including Interpublic at their McCann-Erickson and Tinker, Pritchard, Wood units; N. W. Ayer and Ketchum Communications, where she held the position of Vice President, Management Supervisor in charge of the agency’s travel division. She was a long-standing allied industry member of the Caribbean Tourism Organization, the Society of American Travel Writers and the North American Airlines Public Relations Association – where she had the honor of serving as a past Chair. Dinaz Boga Kaprielian was a graduate of the University of Bombay with a master’s degree in English and a post-graduate Diploma in advertising and public relations.
A celebration of her life will took place on Thursday, February 13, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at the Tillman Chapel at the United Nations - 777 UN Plaza (First Ave at 44th Street).
