Trinidadian Britto Scores Opening Goal in Jamaica Premier League
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trinidadian defender Jordon Britto scored the first goal of the new season in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL), as his team Montego Bay United brushed aside Vere United 4-1 on the opening weekend.

Photo: Lennox AldredBritto rose high to head home a 6th-minute cross from captain Owayne Gordon, as Montego United leapt to joint top of the league standings in the nation’s top flight.
The Montego Bay United team also had three other Trinidad and Tobago players in their lineup. They are goalkeeper Aaron Enill and defenders Josiah Trimmingham and Darnell Hospedales.
Elsewhere, Arnett Gardens FC secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Dunbeholden FC, which saw Guyanese forward Neron Barrow play 37 minutes in the losing cause.
In the other fixture, Trinidadian Nathaniel James played 20 minutes, as his team Mount Pleasant Academy secured a 2-0 win over Portmore United, who had St. Lucian defender Melvin Doxilly in their line.
