PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – The Trinidad and Tobago Commonwealth Games Association (TTCGA) will have the honour of being the first baton bearer for the start of the King’s Baton Relay amongst the 74 Commonwealth nations.
The baton that will be used by Trinidad and Tobago for the first leg of the King’s Baton RelayThe King’s Baton Relay celebrations will commence in Trinidad on Tuesday, March 11 before moving to Tobago on March 14 & 15.
The King’s Baton Relay is a tradition that celebrates, connects and excites communities from every corner of the Commonwealth during the buildup to the Commonwealth Games.
It will culminate at the opening ceremony of Glasgow 2026, one of the largest multisport Games, on July 23, 2026.
TTCGA president, Diane Henderson said she was excited to have Trinidad be the first leg for the relay.
“Trinidad and Tobago is thrilled to be the first host of the King’s Baton Relay, showcasing its creativity and culture through its own Baton design, as well as being able to contribute to the Clean Oceans plastic campaign, and the engagement of our legacies from CYG Trinbago 2023,” she said.
