The agreement, which breaks down to J$6 million in cash plus $1 million in meals per year, arrives on the same day the Girlz return to action against Guyana in their latest World Cup qualifier.

“We believe in long-term development, in building platforms and setting strong foundations for growth,” said Andrei Roper, Marketing Manager at KFC Jamaica. “That is why we are proud to be back on board, supporting a team that continues to represent the country with pride as they move closer to another historic World Cup appearance.”

The fast-food giant is no newcomer to women’s football in Jamaica. The brand recently renewed its support for the Jamaica Women’s Premier League (JWPL) for the 2025/2026 season with a J$3.5 million contribution in cash and meals.

KFC also backed the Reggae Girlz during their 2023 World Cup campaign and previously held a two-year partnership with national captain and all-time leading scorer Khadija “Bunny” Shaw.

“For those familiar with KFC Jamaica’s mindset, you know we are no strangers to supporting sports development across all levels, especially at the youth level,” Roper added. “Over the past two years, we’ve paid close attention to the growth of women’s football, and we see the talent and potential coming through the Women’s Premier League. We’re excited about what that pipeline can mean for the national programme and, ultimately, the world stage.”

Jamaica Football Federation President Michael Ricketts welcomed the renewed backing as the team continues its preparations.

“We welcome KFC’s strong return and continued belief in the Reggae Girlz,” Ricketts said. “This support comes at an important time as we continue to build on our momentum. Their commitment allows us to strengthen our systems, better support our players and remain competitive at the highest level.”

With kickoff against Guyana scheduled for later Saturday, the Reggae Girlz now carry not only a nation’s hopes but renewed corporate firepower as they chase another slice of World Cup history.
