US Imposes Sanctions on Guyanese Nationals, Including a Senior Police Officer

GEORGETOWN, Guyana – The Guyana government says it  “will continue to work diligently” with the United States after US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned a number of named Guyanese and foreign nationals as a result of continuing investigations into the use of Guyana as a place for transhipment of drugs to the North American country.

Suriname Moves Closer to Having New Government

PARAMAIBO, Suriname - Suriname moved closer to having a new government after six opposition parties Sunday night signed a coalition agreement following the decision of the Central Political Body of the National Democratic Party (NDP) gave the green light for the main opposition party to proceed with signing the new accord.
