Jacinth Henry-Martin Reappointed as St. Kitts-Nevis Ambassador to the United States

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – St. Kitts-Nevis Ambassador to the United States, Ambassador Jacinth Henry-Martin has hailed her reappointment to the post as “a high honor”.

During a courtesy call on the Cabinet of the Federation, the former advisor to the Assistant Secretary General of the Organisation of American States (OAS) said her commitment “to defending the interests of the government and people is unswerving, and I am excited to lead an equally committed team in delivering on the mandate entrusted to me both as Ambassador to the USA and as Permanent Representative to the OAS”.

She briefed the Cabinet on the opportunities and resources that the Washington D.C.-based Embassy can provide to the Government and people of the twin-island Federation including networking opportunities with international agencies to assist in areas such as agricultural, finance, and climate resiliency.

Henry-Martin, who holds a Master of Arts in Technical and Specialized Translation and is fluent in three languages, has served the Federation in numerous capacities throughout her career including Minister for Information, Culture, Sports, and Youth during the period 2000 to 2004 before being appointed St. Kitts and Nevis first female Ambassador to the USA, and Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS), in 2011.

Henry-Martin is taking over from Ambassador Thelma-Phillip Browne who replaced her in 2016.
