One in Ten Florida Teens Report Engaging in ‘Digital Self-Harm’

MIAMI  – Approximately 10 percent of Florida middle and high school students report having engaged in “digital self-harm” – they have cyberbullied  themselves. It is an emerging form of self-harm that may be increasing among adolescents, according to a recent study led by an FIU researcher.

Mental Health & Wellness Program© to Host First Module About Exploring the Impact of COVID-19

Miami, Fl. —  RER Consulting Enterprise, LLC (RER) was awarded a grant and recently launched the COVID-19 Mental Health & Wellness Program©. The Program will host its first module “COVID & YOU: EXPLORING THE IMPACT OF COVID.” The Program’s objective is to assist Miami-Dade County residents navigate the myriad of challenges during and post the COVID-19 pandemic, with an emphasis on the wide spectrum of mental health-related issues associated with disasters and pandemics.

Health Staff Recognized and Awarded For Long Service and Outstanding Service

Scores of staff members will be recognized at several conferences throughout the month of November for longstanding service to public healthcare and notable service during the dengue outbreak in 2019. Staff members also received graduation certificates for the community health aide programme and events planning course which they recently participated in. Mrs. Thomas Edwards encouraged the recipients to move forward with determination as they serve the community amidst the Covid-19 pandemic currently affecting the island.
