Her parents, Nelly and Jeff, are equally excited to welcome Bella Rose home and are grateful for the care she received at Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital.

Bella Rose now weighs 6 pounds and 4 ounces.

September is NICU Awareness Month and a reminder that nearly half of all babies in the NICU are born at normal birthweight and are 37 weeks gestation or older, according to the National Perinatal Association. Advances in neonatal medicine mean that more infants can benefit from the specialized care that NICUs can offer. Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital in Fort Lauderdale offers Level III NICU care, which provides intensive care for babies born at almost all gestational ages.
