Broward Health Hospitals Receive ‘Get With The Guidelines’ Awards for Stroke Care

Fort Lauderdale, Florida―Three Broward Health hospitals have received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines® Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite PlusGold PlusQuality Achievement Award. The award recognizes the hospitals’ commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.

Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach and Broward Health Coral Springs earned Gold Plus awards. Broward Health Medical Center was also recognized for a Stroke Award Target Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll and Stroke Award Target Stroke Elite Honor Roll. Additionally, Broward Health North received a Target Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus award. Broward Health Imperial Point in Fort Lauderdale earneda Silver Plus recognition for 2020 for improving patient care and outcomes for stroke patients.

The hospitals obtained these endorsementsby meeting specific quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients at a set level for a designated period. These standards include evaluation of the proper use of medications and other stroke treatments aligned with the most current, evidence-based guidelines to speed recovery, and reduce death and disability for stroke patients.
