Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department Hosts Fourth Drive-Thru Pet Food Bank to Help Pet Owners Provide for Their Pets

MIAMI —To help provide relief for Miami-Dade County’s pet owners during this time, Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department will host its fourth Drive-Thru Pet Food Bank on Thursday, June 4, 2020, from 9 a.m. to noon (or while supplies last), at Lake Stevens Park located at 18350 NW 52nd Ave, Miami Gardens, FL 33055. The pet food distribution is made possible with dog and cat food donations from The ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) as part of the national ASPCA COVID-19 Relief & Recovery Initiative.

“We continue to see the need in our community and receive calls from residents feeling the financial stress, asking for pet food to help feed their furry family members,” said Animal Services Director Alex Muñoz.  “It may seem like a small thing, but many pet owners have expressed just how much it means to them to get some help putting food in their pet’s bowls.”

To ensure adherence to social distancing rules and for the safety and protection of event participants and staff, the pet food distribution event is drive-thru only and exclusively for Miami-Dade County pet owners.  Walk-ups will not be accepted at the event. We ask residents to please wear masks or face coverings at all times during this event.
