Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department Hosts Drive-Thru Pet Food Bank to Help Pet Owners Feed Their Furry Family Members

MIAMI —To help provide relief for Miami-Dade County’s pet owners and help them feed their furry family members during the COVID-19 pandemic, Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department will host its sixth Drive-Thru Pet Food Bank on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. (or while supplies last), at Larry & Penny Thompson Park, located at 12451 SW 184th Street, Miami, FL, 33177. The dog and cat food distribution is made possible through a grant from the Petco Foundation as part of their Pledge to Save Pet Lives during the COVID-19 crisis.

“The Petco grant gives us the ability to continue to provide assistance to families and their pets experiencing financial stress as a result of the pandemic.” said Animal Services Director Alex Muñoz.

To ensure adherence to social distancing rules and for the safety and protection of participants and staff, the event is Drive-Thru ONLY and exclusively for Miami-Dade County pet owners.  Walk-ups will not be accepted at the event. We ask residents to please wear masks or face coverings at all times during this event.
