Her administration's efforts have attracted major investments, business relocations, and the creation of new economy jobs, making Miami-Dade one of the most recovered economies in the nation. She has allocated funds to strengthen homes against severe weather, provided relief for mortgages, utilities, and condo special assessments, and earned the county a new FEMA discount by addressing flooding risks – resulting in greatly reduced flood insurance premiums for residents in unincorporated Miami-Dade. Additionally, her administration has led the effort to install energy-efficient air conditioning units in all public housing, ensuring that all residents can live in healthy and safe environments.
