MIAMI-DADE – The Miami-Dade County Commission presented a proclamation to Miami International Airport Director Lester Sola on Feb. 20 to celebrate a major milestone in passenger traffic at MIA. The airport surpassed 45 million passengers in 2018 – an increase of nearly one million passengers over the previous year.

“Miami International Airport is the top economic engine in Miami-Dade County, so when the airport does well, the County does well,” said County Commission Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson. “As MIA continues to generate more jobs, I look forward to helping make sure that all the diverse segments of our community benefit from the many contracting opportunities at MIA.”
