MIAMI-DADE – Miami-Dade County Commission Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson teamed up with Feeding South Florida to feed over 700 families on May 9 at a drive-through free food distribution at the Caleb Center.

(Photos by Godfrey Mead / Miami-Dade County)Residents financially impacted by the COVID-19 state of emergency drove through the center’s parking lot with their trunks popped open to receive bags or boxes of fruits and vegetables including bananas, melons, squash, zucchini, string beans and tomatoes.
Chairwoman Edmonson and her staff were joined in the distribution effort by volunteers from organizations including Miami Power House Church, the Circle of Brotherhood, the Dade County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Florida Power & Light, the Miami-Biscayne Bay Chapter of The Links, Inc. and others.
“A lot of residents are suffering financially due to the COVID-19 state of emergency. We will continue hosting food drives to ensure that families don’t go hungry. We will all get through this crisis together,” Chairwoman Edmonson said.
