Black History Month Closeout Celebration

MIAMI – As we closeout February’s Black History Month celebrations, the Miami-Dade Black Affairs Advisory Board (BAAB)invites you to enjoy Miami-Dade County’s Transit Expression, a group of transit employees whose mission is to bring joy to others through music and poetry. The festivities will take place from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28 in the lobby of the Stephen P. Clark Center, 111 NW 1st Street, Miami, FL.

The Black History Month Closeout Celebration is sponsored by the Black Affairs Advisory Board’s Heritage Planning Committee. This committee raises money to help postsecondary students supplement their educationally-connected finances. Since  its  inception,  the  Young Pillars Scholarship has awarded more than $45,000 to students  attending  various  academic  institutions  throughout Miami-Dade  County  and  the  United  States. During the Closeout Celebration, vendors and food truck chefs will be donating a part of their proceeds to the Young Pillars Scholarship Fund.

Additionally, don’t miss this month’s

segment highlighting T. Willard Fair’s 55 years’ legacy as the president and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Miami. With the collaborative effort of non-profit organizations, churches, and schools, he has positively impacted the future of many families in #OurCounty.
