Veteran Artist Traz Di Jennik Hopes to Continue Entertaining A Wider Audience in 2025

In 2024, veteran artist Traz Di Jennik showed his versatility by releasing songs with different tones and themes. He hopes they set the foundation for an even more progressive 2025.

jeandiThe Jamaican singjay started the year with Party Nice, his first soca song, released specifically for the Caribbean Carnival season in Easter. He closed 2024 with Stop di Crime, inspired by another year of bloodshed in his country.

“I would say 2024 was definitely a year of advancement in my career. Party Nice was fun, and I experienced growth in another genre,” said Traz Di Jennik.

He co-produced both songs with his wife Lydia Campbell and Trevor “Skatta” Bonnick, his mentor and lead singer of the Inner Circle band.

Party Nice presented a different side to Traz Di Jennik, who has been recording music since the 1990s. Back then, he was known as Alkatraz, and recorded for established producers such as Steely and Clevie.

During that period, he first met Bonnick, who was lead singer for The Bloodfire Posse. Over the years, the two have collaborated on many songs; it was Bonnick’s idea to take a crack at soca which resulted in the lively Party Nice.

Stepping outside of his comfort zone revealed new possibilities for Traz Di Jennik.

“It's my hope to continue creating and entertaining a wider audience in 2025,” he said.
