Venemus Wears Multiple Hats For New Song "You’re Not Ready For This"
Musically-inclined since high school in Jamaica, Venemus lived up to his early promise by becoming an artist, engineer, musician and producer. He wears multiple hats for You’re Not Ready For This, a song he recorded with deejay Agent 13 (Orrahjahni).
Released in early November, it is Venemus’ first song for 2024. He said it came from a brainstorming session in his recording studio; it is inspired by an age-old situation.
“The thought came to me that a lot of people say they want the truth, but can’t handle it when they get it. Therefore, they are not ready to hear the truth because it’s too hot for them to handle. Once confronted they always try to hide behind lies,” Venemus reasoned.
He thought Agent 13’s delivery was perfect to deliver that message. You’re Not Ready For This was recorded shortly after Venemus unearthed a rhythm from his studio archives to match the song.
“It was earmarked for a love song, but when I thought about Orrahjahni’s lyrical style, I decided to write some new lyrics to provocatively highlight some of the follies and idiosyncrasies we face in life,” Venemus explained.
Born in St. Thomas, a parish in eastern Jamaica, Venemus is currently based in Ohio. Migrating to the United States in 1995, he made his name as an artist, musician and studio engineer in South Florida.
After recording a number of songs, Venemus released Feevah, his debut album in 2017.
