colecjgSuch relationships are the subject of Forgiven, the latest song by singer G Cole. Produced by Ed Robinson, it was released in February.

G Cole, who is not big into second-chance relationships, wrote Forgiven, which he points out is inspired by "conversations I've had with friends."

He added that: "It speaks as much to healing, as it does to hurt, forgiveness is not for the forgiven but for the forgiver. The song is very focused on forgiveness and how healing it is to forgive, but in a subtle way, it's focused on the person wanting you back after realizing they made the wrong choice, but you proudly and loudly want to let them know that you've moved on and are happier where you are now."

For most of his songs, G Cole calls on real-life experiences. His previous release, My Father's Song, spoke about fatherhood and the importance of a male presence in a child's life.

He said both songs are likely to be included on his fourth album,  scheduled for release this year.

The South Florida-based G Cole is from the resort town of Ocho Rios in Jamaica. He considers Dennis Brown his biggest influence as a singer and Stevie Wonder and Beres Hammond. among his favorite songwriters.
