Singer Binghi Blaze is Currently Promoting His Song "Africa Great Again"
Africa has never been short on heroes. Nelson Mandela, Patrice Lumumba, Samora Machel and Kwame Nkrumah inspired black people worldwide with their relentless fight against European colonialism.
Singer Binghi Blaze, currently promoting his song Africa Great Again, admires Captain Ibrahim Traore, the charismatic military leader of Burkina Faso, a troubled country in West Africa.
“The situation in Burkina Faso is refreshing, Marcus Garvey and the ancestors would be proud of Captain Traore and his team,” said Binghi Blaze, who is based in South Florida.
He was inspired to write and record Africa Great Again based on instability in parts of the continent including Burkina Faso.
“Sections of Africa are still troubled because they fail to do what Burkina Faso is doing. They are being ruled by external entities and they are selling out the people for money,” Binghi Blaze stated. “Europeans are still in control, so the independence is on paper but far from reality.”
Traore came to power through a military coup in 2022 and has since established ties with Russia, while snubbing France, former rulers of Burkina Faso, which was previously known as Republic of Upper Volta.
One of the 37 year-old leader’s most ambitious policies has been to ensure Burkina Faso earns more from international mining companies who operate in the country.
Inspired by the roots-reggae movement of the 1970s, Binghi Blaze emulates artists such as Peter Tosh and The Mighty Diamonds with hard-hitting message songs like Pressuring The Poor and Jah is In Control.
