Rad Dixon releases his latest song "Slew Babylon", produced by Tasjay Production

Whenever Rad Dixon writes a song, he attempts to touch the conscience of potential listeners. For Slew Babylon, his latest song, he stuck to that format.

raddixonRad DixonLike most of his songs, it is produced by Tasjay Production.

“The message behind Slew Babylon is to remind people that whatever you do to hurt people unnecessarily, your time will come. It's time they wake up and start doing the right thing,” said Dixon.

Based in South Florida, the singer-songwriter is a committed Rastafarian whose writing is inspired by his faith, which he embraced during the 1990s while living in his native Manchester parish, southern Jamaica.

That region was the epicenter of the roots-reggae resurgence which took place 35 years ago through acts like Tony Rebel, Garnet Silk and Kulcha Knox. Recently, Dixon visited Manchester where he performed at a tribute show to Silk who died there in December, 1994 at age 28.

“We grew up in the same community as one family and it was no surprise when he (Garnet Silk) got international (recognition) because he always seemed like an artist that's already 'bus' with his unique voice,” said Dixon.

Guided by Tasjay Production, Dixon has released a number of songs including covers of Kenny Rogers’ Write Your Name and the Neil Diamond classic, Sweet Caroline. Hard Time, his debut album, was released in January, 2023.
