Pinnacle's Newest Song, 'Fill Your Prescription', is a Lover's Rock Number

Most times when Pinnacle records a song, he projects the tone of his musical heroes, which includes fellow Jamaican John Holt and American soul legend Jerry Butler. Fill Your Prescription, his latest song, is a lovers rock number that appeals to fans of reggae’s softer side.

burjerrycoReleased on September 26, it is produced by Danny Breakenridge for Upstairs Music.

"My approach for writing music is to find a good, catchy melody. Clarity and timing is very important. Give thanks to the Most High for a big voice and great inspiration,” said Pinnacle.

The veteran singer was born in Kingston, Jamaica’s capital but spent some of his formative years in Clarendon, a rural parish in the country's central region. He has been a South Florida resident for many years.

While he was also weaned on the militant message of roots-reggae singers like Junior Delgado, Pinnacle favors the softer tones of artists like Holt, one of the giants of lovers rock, and Benjy Myaz, the singer/bassist who has helped keep that genre alive in the past 30 years.

With Fill Your Prescription, he stays true to a personal tradition.

"I do enjoy making these types of music, I just enjoy singing for the ladies. I do believe that there is always a place for good music, especially lovers rock," said Pinnacle.
