P’damore Has Released His First Album, "In These Times"

Three years ago while visiting his mother in a Maryland hospital, P’damore said she enquired about his music career which he had put on hold for a nine-to-five job.

pdamoa“Shi sey, ‘what happen to you and the music? I’d love to see you get back in the music because it makes you happy’,” he recalled.

His mother died three years ago, around the same time he relaunched his career with a new moniker. He was previously known as Mr. Vigorous, but for his comeback, went for the more exotic P’damore.

In These Times, the Toronto-based artist’s first album, was released on March 1. It has 13 songs, co-produced by his ER Productions and Omar Smith.

Five of those tracks, including Fish Out of Water and Dreaming of You, were previously released. His current single, In The News, is also on In These Times.

P’damore is from Trelawny parish in western Jamaica, but he began recording songs in the 1990s after moving to Kingston, the country’s capital. False Money and Mi Know Shame are some of his early songs.

Frustrated with his failure to achieve the elusive hit single, P’damore stepped away from the music and settled into conventional employment. After that fateful talk with his mother, he decided to give the music business a second crack.

“Di most important is mi happy with life an’ how things turn out. Wi give di Almighty thanks,” said P’damore.
