Music Producer Adrian "Donsome" Hanson's New EP is "Gruesome Act Riddim"

With hostility being the order of the day, music producer Adrian "Donsome" Hanson thought it would be appropriate to record a project addressing global instability.

riddinJIn March, he released the Gruesome Act Riddim which he says is "a project that is against the wars and killings going on in the world, especially our island Jamaica."

It contains six songs by five artists plus the rhythm instrumental. War is Not The Answer (Gruesome Remix) by Mykal Rose, No More Crime by Kiprich, Fly Away Home (Anthony B), We Keep Going (Turbulence) and Tommy B SAL's Nah Vote, are the vocal songs on the EP.

Hanson, who created the 'riddim' in his Atlanta recording studio, wanted to duplicate one of his previous productions that had a similar theme.

"I wanted a project that would be a follow-up of my 2009 Crime Stop Riddim, that has Mama Bawl by Gyptian, Lost Our Way by I-Octane, Famine And Drought by I Wayne and The Summary by Influential. All the tracks tackle the poverty, killing and crime that was out of control in Jamaica," he explained.

Hanson is originally from Clarendon, a rural parish in southern Jamaica. Since he started producing almost 20 years ago, he has assembled a solid catalog with his Donsome Records.

In addition to the aforementioned acts, Hanson produced I Give You Love, Rose's 2023 album. He also produced songs for Golden, Marcia Griffiths' album which came out that year.
