Gospel Artist Brotha George Releases New Song 'DNA'

Gospel artist Brotha George, who started his career as a dancehall act, returns to those roots with DNA, his latest song which was released on September 5th.

BROcampThe uptempo track is co-produced by Sidney Mills and Andre "Dretegs" Hawthorne. According to the Connecticut-based Brotha George, there is a strategy behind its dancehall flavor.

"With this song we are trying to reach a younger market, wherein we are appealing to a younger audience and spreading the word of God. They need some guidance from us too," he said.

To help reach the youth market, Brotha George filmed a hip music video in which he is surrounded by dancers. While he had fun recording the song and filming the visual, DNA's message is serious.

"DNA is about a testament of my blessings, the blessings of God and how he helped me move through these modern times with his protection. I feel blessed," he said.

DNA is one of the songs from Secret Admire, Brotha George's upcoming album which is scheduled for release late this year. Sidney Mills and Dretegs are also co-producers for that 10-song set.

It is the follow-up to Firm And Strong which came out in May, 2023.

"This album (DNA) is different as the songs are tracks that folks can relate to. The subjects matter, as at some time in our lives we all went through different circumstances," said Brotha George.

A committed Christian for over 25 years, Brotha George is from Kingston, Jamaica where his recording career started in the early 1980s at studios like the famed Channel One.
