G Cole's Drops New Song 'I'm In Love' Prior to Release of Fourth Album
When G Cole’s fourth album is released in April, fans will hear a different side to the South Florida-based artist. He delves into some serious topics, but prior to that project dropping, the singer goes mellow on I’m In Love.
Released in March, the self-produced ballad was recorded with a mature audience in mind.
“I’ve been in a nostalgic mood lately, and this song is just a result of that. I really wanted to create a song for grown folks to groove to, and I think we did that,” said G Cole.
Pointing to lovers rock heavyweights Dennis Brown and Beres Hammond among his msical heroes, the Ocho Rios native is known for easy-listening songs like What Love Is and Peace of Mind Is A Holiday, but he has shown social awareness on tracks like My Father’s Song.
While not giving away much, he hinted at things to come with his latest album.
“It doesn’t have a lot of love songs on it, because it’s telling a specific story, so I figured I’d give the lovers something to groove to, while they wait on the project. This (I’m In Love) was actually recorded after the album was done,” he said.
This Music 2.0, G Cole’s previous album, came out in 2023. A seasoned broadcaster, he hosts Homegrown With G Cole, a show that is simulcast on 13 stations.
