2021 Jamaica Gospel Star Grand Final This Emancipation Sunday!

The 2021 Jamaica Gospel Star Competition television series will see its televised Grand Final this Emancipation Day, Sunday, August 1 on CVM TV and online at the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission’s (JCDC) website –www.jcdc.gov.jm ,and on its Facebook - Jamaica Cultural Development Commission and Youtube - JCDC Jamaica1 pages, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The live Grand Final, the final episode in the four-part television series, will see the Formidable 5 finalists each perform two songs, first a duet with their favourite Jamaican Gospel Artiste, and then a repeat performance of their personal favourite performance of this season. The duets will feature live performances with renowned Gospel artistes Kevin Downswell, Jermaine Edwards, Rondell Positive, Alicia Taylor and Jai Kingston.

Voting lines are currently open, and allow the public to text to vote for their favorite Gospel Star up until 4:00p.m. on August 1, 2021.

The new Jamaica Gospel Star Competition television series focuses on unearthing vocally-talented and high-performance aspiring Gospel artistes, while giving them a shot at becoming Jamaica’s first Gospel Star! This competition is a rebrand of the iconic Jamaica Gospel Song Competition, however unlike its predecessor, which focused on its finalists performing and building momentum for their original song, the Jamaica Gospel Star Competition will see contestants performing unoriginal/cover songs in a weekly televised performance/elimination show, featuring performance themes like: Reggae/Dancehall Gospel, Traditional/Throwback Gospel, and even former Top 10 Jamaica Gospel Songs.
