No Face-to-Face Classes, Says University of Guyana

GEORGETOWN, Guyana – The University of Guyana (UG) last month said there would be no face-to-face classes for the first semester of the new academic year as a result of the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that has killed more than 30 people and infected over 1,000 others since March.

guyanaUNI“The institution will continue to work in safe mode online with essential services being performed on the University’s campuses,” UG explained in a statement, adding that it would offer its courses (online) for Semester 1 of the 2020/2021 academic year.It also said the new academic year is scheduled to begin Oct. 5 and that registration for new and continuing students runs through Sept. 30.
