Miami Dade College Once Again Named Among “Great Colleges to Work For”

Miami,- For the eleventh consecutive year, Miami Dade College (MDC) has been named among the nation’s Great Colleges to Work For by The Chronicle of Higher Education, a major higher education publication. In addition, MDC again made the Honor Roll for being recognized in multiple categories.

“This is a great honor for our institution and its dedicated faculty and staff,” said MDC Interim President Dr. Rolando Montoya. “I am truly grateful for their tireless contribution to enhancing the education and lives of our students. Thank you.”

MDC was recognized in the following categories: Collaborative Governance; Professional/Career Development Programs; Compensation & Benefits; Job Satisfaction; Confidence in Senior Leadership; Supervisor/Department Chair Relationship; Respect and Appreciation; and Diversity.

To administer the survey and analyze the results, The Chronicle once again turned to ModernThink LLC, a strategic human capital consulting firm that has conducted numerous “Best Places to Work” programs, surveying hundreds of thousands of employees nationwide. This year’s results are based on a survey of 236 colleges and universities.  In all, 85 of the 236 institutions were recognized for specific best practices and policies.

“The institutions recognized in this year’s Great Colleges to Work For program don’t wait for problems to occur to pay attention to their people,” said Richard K. Boyer, principal and managing partners, ModernThink LLC. “Conversely, they’re intentional (and successful!) in being good stewards of their institutions’ cultures and shaping the day-to-day experience of their faculty and staff to the ultimate benefit of their students.”

MDC joins other top institutions in receiving this distinction including Baylor University, Hofstra University, Quinnipiac University and the University of Southern California, among others.

Great Colleges to Work For is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition programs in the country. For more information and to view all the results of the survey, visit the Great College Program website at https://greatcollegesprogram.com/list/colleges/
