Keturah Hamilton Foundation Launches Educational Scholarships

Whenever Keturah Hamilton visits Jamaica, she is struck by the challenges many parents face to give their children a sound education. The actress/philanthropist has assisted schools and students through her Keturah Hamilton Foundation by donating educational items.

The funds will assist with their education.

According to Hamilton, prospective students should be between the ages of 14-18 for eligibility, with other requirements being:

--- A written essay of why the student deserves the scholarship and how it would make a difference in their lives.

--- Submit a two-minute personality video.

--- Provide a recent progress report and character letter on letterhead of the student’s school from a senior teacher or principal.

Once the students are selected, the scholarship funds will be issued to administrators of their schools.

Hamilton was raised in Spanish Town, Jamaica’s first capital, before migrating in her early teen to the United States. After a career in modeling, she moved into acting and has appeared in a number of television series and films.

Those include New Amsterdam, Heaven’s Revenge and Stand Up.

Through the Keturah Hamilton Foundation, she has donated educational items to primary schools (students between the ages of four and 11) in St. Catherine and Manchester parishes.
