Mom and Pop Grant Applications Available to District 3 Small Business Owners

MIAMI – Miami-Dade County small business owners in County Commission Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson’s district (District 3) can apply for up to $2,500 in grants from Miami-Dade County’s Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program.

Applications are available now through Friday, Feb. 14 at www.miamidade.gov/district03. They also can be picked up at Chairwoman Edmonson’s district office at 5400 NW 22nd Ave., Suite 701, Miami, FL 33142.

Completed applications will be accepted starting Feb. 17 through 4 p.m. Feb. 21 at the District 3 Office, 5400 NW 22nd Ave, 7th Floor or Neighbors And Neighbors Association (NANA), 5120 NW 24th Ave.

To be eligible, businesses must be located in District 3, have no more than seven full-time employees, be in operation for at least one year, and not be part of a national chain. Prior recipients may apply as long as they have not received funding for the previous two consecutive years.

An informational workshop explaining the requirements will take place at 1 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall Social and Economic Institute, 5120 NW 24th Ave.

The Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program was created to provide financial and technical assistance to qualified for-profit small businesses that are approved for funding. Mom and Pop Grants are administered in collaboration with respective County Commissioners’ offices.
