Holiday Shopping With a Caribbean Twist at caribBEING’s Holiday Pop Up Shop

Are you still looking for the perfect last minute gift for friends and loved ones this holiday season? If so, caribBEING’s 7th annual holiday pop shop has exactly what you need. Located right in the heart of the Flatbush neighborhood, “Little Caribbean”, in Brooklyn, New York, this beautifully decorated storefront space boasts a plethora of products from over 25 different Caribbean & Caribbean-American owned businesses including bath & body care, clothing, books, art prints, jewelry, pastries including rum cake, pepper sauces, candles and home goods. Each item has been meticulously chosen by caribBEING’s co-founders Shelley Worrel and Janluck Stanislas as well as their dedicated staff to represent all aspects of Caribbean culture.

(Photo by Andre Clarke)If you can’t make it in person, many of the products are available on their website (www.iamcaribbeing.com) where you can “shop tings”,  including their incredibly popular “CARIBBEING” and “FLATBUSH” sweatshirts, featuring sewn felt lettering on Champion crewnecks.

caribBEING describes itself as a “multidisciplinary venture dedicated to showcasing Caribbean culture + art + film in Greater New York City and around the world, where art + culture + lifestyle meet global Caribbean + LatinX heritage. We celebrate and amplify Caribbean culture and lifestyle, supporting businesses, creating community, and documenting as well as creating culture.” Their work has shown up at the Lincoln Center, Brooklyn Museum, Tribeca Film Festival, Smorgasburg, Link NYC, Google Arts, CaFA in Barbados and elsewhere.

The shop is located at 1399 Nostrand Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11226 and open until December 30th, Thursdays to Saturday 11am - 7pm, Sunday 12pm - 5pm.
