Region Could Face Gradually Increasing Heatwaves Over Next Three Months

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados –  The Caribbean Climate Outlook Forum (CariCOF) Friday said that the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) neutral conditions in the Pacific, combined with unusually warm waters around the Caribbean could  create a regional heat season with the possibility of heatwaves, gradually ramping up, but unlikely to match 2023 and 2024.

Two Jamaican Cities Included in New Project to Reduce Plastic Pollution

CARTAGENA, Colombia - Two Jamaican cities, including the capital, Kingston,  are included in a new initiative aimed at reducing marine plastics and plastic pollution in Latin America and Caribbean cities through a Circular Economy Approach (GEF LAC Cities) that recently launched an intercity network on plastics circular economy in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
