Kingston, Jamaica,  – The GraceKennedy (GK) Group in collaboration with the Private Sector Vaccination Initiative (PSVI), hosted a COVID-19 vaccination blitz at its headquarters in Downtown Kingston yesterday, Tuesday, September 7, 2021. 570 participants in the blitz received either their first or second COVID-19 vaccine dose, including 67 young people between the ages of12 and 18 years. The blitz targeted GK team members and their guests. GK contractors, members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force attached to the Kingston Central Division and residents of Parade Gardens and Rae Town, the communitiesbordering GK’s HQ, were also vaccinated at the blitz.

The second wave of COVID-19 has been filled uncertainty and unpredictability of the virus itself. However, we’ve had plenty of opportunities to avoid preventable downfalls. The two-dose mRNA vaccines have been confirmed to be highly effective at preventing infection, illness, and hospitalization, even from the now prevalent Delta variant according to vaccine health officials pointing to emerging research.

ST. GEORGE’S, Grenade – Grenada, expressing concerns that the next 10 days could be a defining moment in its battle with the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, has announced plans for the possible conversion of the island’s second biggest hospital into a “COVID Hospital”.
