April is National Minority Health Month: Special message from Jessie Trice Community Health System

MIAMI, FLA. -- Did you know that the month of April is officially recognized as National Minority Health Month? Numerous health providers work tirelessly each day to raise awareness about the health disparities that continue to affect racial and ethnic minorities. They also work to increase awareness about the health care law's groundbreaking policies to reduce these disparities and achieve health equity.

Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Diagnosed After Age 50 Discovery On-The-Rise in Adults After Non-Diagnosis in Childhood

(CHARLOTTE, NC, April 2019) Little research concerning Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD focuses on patients over age 50. Until, recently mental health professionals believed ADHD was not considered a possibility for people in this age category, when symptoms like forgetfulness and distractions were shared during an evaluation.  Finding out ADHD is the answer to decades of internal “Why,” questions for middle aged individuals, can provide a new-found freedom that is hard to articulate.
