Recording Artist Chico To Release 'Morning Exercise', Produced By Most Wanted Records

A recording artist since the 1990s, Chico cut his teeth in arguably dancehall music’s most competitive era. He is still in the game, releasing songs like Morning Exercise.

That track, produced by Most Wanted Records, will come out in September. At this stage of his career, the deejay says he has no great desire to make the charts.

“I just make music that I feel people can relate to, enjoy, and have fun with. Dancehall connects with people from all different backgrounds and age groups,” said Chico. 

He added, however, that it is critical to keep in tune with what is hot musically.

“It’s important to know what’s happening in the culture and understand where the music is going, but I always want to bring my own experience and style,” he stated.

Morning Exercise maintains a busy 2026 release schedule for Chico. People Badmind, Tan inna yu Lane and She Want More are some of the earlier songs he did this year for different producers.

Chico, who is from Kingston, Jamaica’s capital, recorded songs for some of the top dancehall producers during the 1990s, including Lloyd “King Jammy” James and Dave Kelly. Stamina Body and Mek Noise are two of his popular tracks from that time.

Later, he collaborated with Sean Paul on Ganja Breed. That song is from Dutty Rock, Sean Paul’s multi-platinum album that won a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 2004.

Chico reflects on a career of positives.

“There have been many, but appearing on Sean Paul’s Dutty Rock album and working with artists like Red Rat and Lord Kossity are definitely highlights. Most importantly, I’m proud of the longevity still creating and making music after all these years,” he said.
