Hopeton Lindo Releases New Song 'Praises', Produced By Steven Marsden

One month after releasing his most spiritual work, Hopeton Lindo continues to show faith on Praises, a song produced by Steven “Lenky” Marsden.

lindoPraises was released on September 18. It hears Lindo — one of contemporary reggae’s leading songwriters — partnering with Marsden, best known for the mega-selling Diwali ‘riddim’.

According to Lindo, Praises is “centred on faith, gratitude, and giving thanks to God.” It is available through VPAL Music and major digital streaming and download platforms.

Lindo and Marsden have been friends for over 20 years, having both collaborated with Sly and Robbie’s Taxi Gang.

Praises is the single follow-up to A Miracle, Lindo’s six-song EP. That project was inspired by personal circumstances; it includes songs like Cover Me (done with his son, Lindo); Testify and Mental Health Awareness, a song he did with Anthony Malvo.

Hopeton Lindo paid his dues on the sound system circuit in Kingston during the early 1980s. As a singer, his hit songs include Territory, while he wrote or co-wrote hit songs like Red Rose For Gregory, Temptress by Maxi Priest and Can You by Brian and Tony Gold.

The Diwali is Marsden’s signature. It yielded massive hit singles in Sean Paul’s Get Busy and No Letting Go by Wayne Wonder.
