Binghi Blaze's ‘Great Africa Tour’ Starts on November 22 at the Good Vibes Festival
Most reggae artists dream about performing in Africa, which has inspired many of their songs. Among them is Binghi Blaze, who is scheduled to perform in Kenya in November and December.
Binghi BlazeThe singer’s ‘Great Africa Tour’ starts on November 22 at the Good Vibes Festival at Jamhuri Park in Nairobi, the East African country’s capital. That show has Luciano as headliner.
“I’m excited about the Motherland. The more shows, the more people I reach and the more the message is spread, the bigger the Binghi Blaze family gets,” said the Florida-based artist.
Other dates confirmed on the ‘Great Africa Tour’ are December 11 at Wild Waters Amusement Park in Mombasa; Dec 18 at Mass House in Nairobi; December 19 at Utamu in Nayuki; and December 20 in Meru.
Binghi Blaze is from Manchester parish in central Jamaica, which is also the birthplace of Luciano and other roots luminaries like Garnet Silk and Tony Rebel.
Typical of roots-reggae acts, most of his songs are driven by social and global themes. Those songs include Pressuring The Poor, People of The World, Hail King Selassie I and Africa Great Again.
Kenya is one of the most vibrant reggae markets in Africa. In recent years, major acts such as Damian Marley, Buju Banton, Sizzla and Glen Washington have performed there.
