T&T Government Seeking Regional and International Partners to Restart Refinery

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad -The Trinidad and Tobago  government is exploring the possibility of regional and international partners being involved in the re-start of the state-owned oil refinery that was shut down  in 2018 when the former government said the cost of upgrading the refinery would have loaded the company with an unsustainable debt burden estimated at TT$12 billion of which TT$5.780 billion is due in August 2019.

St. Lucia Endorses National Coastal and Marine Spatial Plan

CASTRIES,  St. Lucia – The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission Tuesday congratulated St. Lucia on the formal endorsement of the country’s Coastal and Marine Spatial Plan, saying that it underscores the country’s “continued leadership and commitment to sustainable ocean governance and the advancement of its Blue Economy aspirations”.

Venezuela Cancels All Energy Deals With Trinidad and Tobago

CARACAS – Venezuela on Monday said it has with “immediate effect” terminated any existing contract, agreement or negotiation with Trinidad and Tobago after accusing Port of Spain of being complicit in the decision of the United States to seize a Venezuela oil tanker last week.
