The Fort Lauderdale Strikers have signed twenty-six year old forward Martin Nuñez ahead of the 2013 NASL Fall Season opening match in New York against the Cosmos. Nuñez will be a familiar face to Strikers fans as he played with the team in 2011, scoring five goals and tallying three assists as a Striker.

Nuñez spent the 2012 season with Minnesota Stars FC (now Minnesota United FC) after he was traded by the Strikers. He played 25 games for the Stars in their run to the NASL Championship Series, scoring 5 goals along the way.
The Strikers also released two players that were in the 2013 Spring roster, Mike Dietz and Eduardo Jimenez. The two forwards were signed prior to the start of the 2013 Spring season.

The August 3rd match against the New York Cosmos marks the first time in over 30 years the teams meet.
