ImageOn August 6, 2010, Vice-Chairman Jose “Pepe” Diaz presented a special award to Andre “The Hawk” Dawson, who was recently inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on July 25 in Cooperstown, New York. The award, which features a statuette of a hawk, was given to Dawson at Sun Life Stadium upon Dawson’s return from Cooperstown.

Miami FC came from behind and earned an important 1-1 draw against the Puerto Rico Islanders to conclude their long road trip and stay within striking distance in the playoff race. The game marks the end of a grueling stretch for the Blues in which seven of its past eight games were away from South Florida.

The Blues return home next weekend with a Coastal Cup matchup against the FC Tampa Bay Rowdies on Aug. 14 at Lockhart Stadium. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.

Despite a recurring electrical glitch the four-man crew of factory Aston Martin driver Sam Hancock, alongside Simon Dolan, Joe Twyman and Roger Wills - all three being members of Jota's private driver training service 'The Drivers Club' - led the class for much of the prestigious twice-around-the-clock enduro and finished a massive 38 laps clear of the next-best GT4 car as the chequered flag flew at 4pm local time on Sunday afternoon.
