The Fort Lauderdale Strikers (1W-1T-0L) tied with defending NASL Champion Minnesota Stars FC (0W-2T-0L) in front of 2,916 at Lockhart Stadium on Saturday night. The Strikers have yet to allow a goal in their first two games of the 2012 season. “We had some good chances and both goalkeepers made some great saves tonight,” said Strikers head coach Daryl Shore. “The 0-0 result was probably a fair assessment of the game. They were much better than us in the first half and we played better in the second half.”

Despite playing a man down, Herron scored the game-winning goal in the Strikers 1-0 win against FC Edmonton on Saturday night at Lockhart Stadium. "We're happy for Andy as he scored a great goal this week and helped us keep our composure as a group after going a man down," said Strikers head coach Daryl Shore. "I'm sure Andy would be the first to tell you this is a team honor this week."

President of the Dominica Olympic Committee John Charles died last month after collapsing. Charles, who owned several businesses in Roseau, including the Charles Drug Store, was rushed to the Princess Margaret Hospital where he was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner after efforts to revive him proved futile.
