For the third year in a row, the Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) has invited the celebrated Dutch Coach Roy Wilhelm and his staff of four Dutch Soccer School coaches to the Cayman Islands, to conduct a training camp from August 8-12 with our talented Caymanian youths at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex.

The registration fee remains at $150 and includes a kit, a ball and refreshments, as well as access to the head Coach Wilhelm and his staff which consists of Sander Verhoeven, Carsten Ditchfield, Sietze Warniers and, Jelle Goudswaard.

The NASL has named Fort Lauderdale Strikers goalkeeper Matt Glaeser Defensive Player of the Week. Glaeser made five saves on his way to holding the Puerto Rico Islanders offense to one goal and securing a point for the Strikers on Saturday night at Lockhart Stadium.

"This honor is a show of the form Matt has been in over the last few weeks. He has been a consistent factor in our current six game unbeaten streak, and if he keeps performing at this level we will continue to create opportunities to move this team forward," said Head Coach Daryl Shore.

I am deeply saddened over the recent developments that have rocked the core of Caribbean football.

On Monday, one of the founding members of the CFU, Jack Austin Warner, resigned from the FIFA, the CONCACAF and the CFU.

Jack was the longest serving member on the FIFA Executive Committee and has served the sport for over 30 years. The region has benefitted from his vision, his dedication, and his commitment to football.

Athletic fans globally can now get a front seat to the 2011 JAAA/Supreme Ventures Limited National Senior Championship.

The meet is set for the Jamaica National Stadium from June 23-June 26, 2011.  All four days will be streamed live, and will also be available on Smartphones, bringing the world to shores of Jamaica via New Media Technologies.

JAAA describes this as a unique opportunity to again witness Jamaica's best athletes as they vie for their position at the 2011 World Championships.  The live stream will be broadcasted on www.jaaa.tv and www.jaaa.tv/mobile.
