Jamaica

With the chill of the new season quickly approaching, travelers can extend their warm weather adventures with an endless summer special in Jamaica. The island has fall and winter travel escapes, starting as low as $65 per night.

“Jamaica has an extensive range of property types for a variety of budgets,” said John Lynch, Jamaica’s Director of Tourism. “Coupled with the island’s year-round events schedule, these special deals bring even more value to travelers booking a vacation in Jamaica.”

A quartet of Republican women toured South Florida on Monday to sing the praises of Mitt Romney. They said a Romney presidency would be good for women - and for men.

"Mitt Romney understands the issues for women and all Americans," said U.S. Rep. Sandy Adams, R-Orlando. "It's so important that we come together and ... take 10 of our friends to the polls. Get them to take 10 of their friends to the polls. And before you know it, we will make sure that Mitt Romney will be the next president of the United States."

The Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution this week urging Florida’s Governor to apply early voting uniformly across the state and to return early voting to the full 14 possible days of early voting, including the Sunday before election day. The early voting resolution, which was sponsored by Commissioner Jean Monestime, District 2, was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday, September 18, 2012.
“The state of Florida must do everything possible to ensure that voters have access to the polls. Early voting extends the opportunity to vote for everyone,” Commissioner Monestime said. “Voting should be made easy and convenient.”
