KINGSTON, Jamaica—
President -designate of the ruling People's National Party (PNP) Portia Simpson-Miller says she is not yet ready to discuss speculation about the possibility of a snap-election.

Responding to reporters' questions, following her Feb. 25 victory, the Prime Minister-designate said, "I would never have any discussion. I have not even taken by oath of office yet. When I have to speak about those issues I'll do so at the appropriate time," she said.

She also declined to indicate whether Cabinet changes were in the works.

"I am not thinking about Cabinet right now, I have a little more time and at the appointed time I will deal with cabinet issues."

She also told reporters that she had received a number of messages of congratulations from regional leaders and well-wishers from the United States government and other countries across the world.
