But while the US may again be pulling back from their ‘backyard neighbors, China is moving full steam ahead into this region. Here are five ways China says it will be expanding investments in the Caribbean and Latin America:
News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Mon. Nov. 28, 2016: Organizers of the #NotMyPrince Campaign on Sunday called for reparations for slavery from Britain as Prince Harry continued his Caribbean trip, stopping over in St. Vincent & The Grenadines Saturday and as he continues on to Grenada today. “#SVG: Reparations time come now,” @NotMyPrince tweeted while slamming the visit as propaganda” and noting there is “no apology from the palace.” The group, which says it is an anti-colonial welcoming committee for Prince Harry’s Caribbean, is being curated by Nalini Mohabir and Jermain Ostiana.
Prince’s Trust International is a youth charity recently established in Barbados with the aim to help disadvantaged young people on the island gain vital skills to move into education, training or employment. The Trust, formally launched last November in Malta by its President HRH The Prince of Wales, has partnered in Barbados with the Royal Barbados Police to deliver the first international “Team” development programme and with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for the first pilots of the “Get Into” employability programme on the island.
Kingston Jamaica: The JCDC Eastern Region which covers the parishes of Kingston & St. Andrew, St. Catherine and St. Thomas will be hosting its annual Culture Club Consultation under the theme “Cultural Interaction for Greater Regional Integration (Social Growth)”.
