On February 19 and 20 at the Barbados Yacht Club, the Barbados Entrepreneurs' Venture Capital Fund held its first Shepherding Training Programme designed to nurture a new crop of potential "shepherds," business mentors to tend a flock of local entrepreneurs. The course gave them a comprehensive introduction to the CBET Shepherding Modelâ„¢ - intended to pull the wool off entrepreneurs' eyes.

St. Lucia's Jade Mountain supporting Haiti Fundraiser in Toronto
Two of the world's most highly-ranked resorts have pitched in to help earthquake survivors in Haiti.

The stunning Jade Mountain, named the number one resort in the Caribbean and in the top three worldwide by Travel & Leisure magazine, and framed by the spectacular twin Pitons peaks of St. Lucia, are contributing rooms to a Haiti fundraising benefit set for this Sunday, February 28 at the Lula Lounge at 7 p.m. (1585 Dundas St. West) in Toronto.

"American airline staff are doing an amazing and largely unheralded job in Haiti," asserts a development expert close to the post earthquake relief efforts in the Caribbean nation.

Charles Kao, chairman of the Innovation for Sustainable Development Centre (ISDC), pointed to the work of Airline Ambassadors International (AAI) (www.airlineambassadors.org) which he said had organized and "paid out of their own pockets for 17 airplanes full of aid and trained medical professionals."
